About Le Petit Palais
Although originally from Melbourne, I have lived all over the Bellarine Peninsula for the last 35 years, ending up in Portarlington 13 years ago. I believe Portarlington is one of the few remaining towns on the peninsula that still retains its small town friendliness and sense of community. After living on a small farm for a number of years, it was great to move into town and be within a short walk of shops, cafes & swimming beaches. We chose this house mainly for its location…on a quiet street and so close to everything that we didn’t need a car to get into town. And now we have the ferry from Melbourne, one doesn’t even need a car to get to the city.
I hope to welcome you to Le Petit Palais one day.

The Neighbourhood
Le Petit Palais du Port was created for people who enjoy a weekend away in stylish, slightly quirky, accommodation set in a lovely location. Here, guests can spend their time walking on beaches & piers, talking with the locals, eating the local produce and drinking the local wines. Portarlington is the perfect destination for such an escape. It is the sort of pretty, old-fashioned coastal holiday town that I remember from my childhood: no high-rise, fast food outlets, big shopping complexes, traffic lights… I am sure that you too will enjoy being able to walk down town for a coffee, hear live music, or eat a leisured breakfast while looking out over the bay. In the evening, as you stroll back to Le Petit Palais after dinner at one of the town’s restaurants, don’t forget to pause a while and look at the lights of Melbourne skyline across the bay.
